Fanny Brice
Femmes was the theme of the 2022 Fleurs de Villes Show at Hudson Yards. Polycarp Flowers was assigned the task of bringing groundbreaking actress Fanny Brice to life, honoring her life and the Broadway revival of her story, Funny Girl. A combination of over 700 fresh, dried and preserved stems were used to bring this icon, a "gorgeous" marquee and playbill to life. Photos: byVeronicaphotography
The 2021 Fleurs de Villes flower show, was held at Hudson Yards in New York City. The theme and the focus of the show was to draw awareness and support to Breast Cancer Research. Our Entry won BEST IN SHOW. JACHO, named after strong positive woman in my life who have all survived breast cancer. The inner part of the skirt is made in an ombre of pinks representing the inner battle of cancer as it flows out white into the green path ahead. Her outer back of the skirt in made with bright vivid colorful blooms representing her passion and vitality. The bodysuit is made with dyed skeleton leaf, representing the fragile beauty that is her body and the floral afro made from colorful preserved and dried botanicals, shows us her dignity.
